TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine via distance learning
This program discusses the philosophy, diagnostic, and therapeutic techniques of Oriental Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The objective of this program is to teach students how to integrate the concepts and techniques of Oriental Medicine into naturopathic practice. This includes applying TCM principles to the human body; appreciating the relationship between the Oriental zangfu (organs); and having a deep understanding of the Oriental diagnostic methods. After sound diagnosis, students will learn how to apply various principles and techniques to treat diseases and rebalance patients' Qi. Techniques learned will include acupressure, moxibustion, tuina, and Chinese herbs and nutrition.

This course of oriental therapies reviews a range of medical practices that originated throughout India and Asia. Oriental therapies believe that illnesses are caused by an imbalance of the energy flow in the body. Each discipline develops its own way of explaining and dealing with the energy balance to achieve optimal health.

Chinese Herbology
This course classifies Chinese medicinal herbs according to their functions, therapeutic uses, taste, energy, actions, indications, dosage, contraindications, and methods of preparation. It describes how these herbs are therapeutically used to alleviate symptoms, detoxify, reduce fever, warm the body, open orifices, relax the shen, reduce gases, regulate Qi, and activate blood.

TCM Diagnosis
This course reviews the ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine methods of inquiry, observation, auscultation, olfaction, and palpation. It integrates them with the classical methods of tongue and pulse assessment and with the differential diagnostic procedures based in the Eight Principles, the Zang Fu Organs, and the Five Elements Theory. The purpose is to determine prevailing patterns of disharmony or disease. Also, it uses facial characteristics namely markings, shapes, and colorings as evidence of emotional dysfunction, physical energy blockages, and organs imbalance.

Meridians Anatomy
This course revises the theory of Meridians, the internal and external courses of the Twelve Meridians, the Eight Extra Meridians, the Collateral, and the Muscle/Tendon Meridians. It studies the acupoints of the major Meridians from a corporal anatomical and topographical perspective. It highlights the micro-system acupuncture points found in the ear system.

Acupoints & Acupressure
This course presents the major principles of acupoint selection and their application to the treatment of various diseases. According to the theory of Tui-Na (manipulative therapy); acupressure stimulates the acupuncture points located on the meridian pathways of the body and facilitate healing through the movement of Qi energy.

Case Taking & Analysis
All therapeutical approaches require accurate client's information. This course investigates the basics of developing a patients' case study namely: observation and contact, methods of communication, questioning and obtaining information, and the use of archive. It explains how to look deeply at a person's unique symptoms and assign the corresponding therapeutical approach.

TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine
This course explains the Traditional Chinese Medicine views on health and disease, diagnostic techniques, treatment modalities, herbal medicine, and nutrition, including concepts such as Yin/Yang, five elements, vital substances, Zang Fu organs, and acupressure channels. It explores the theories of disease including etiology, pathology, and treatment.

TCM Internal Medicine
This course examines common Traditional Chinese Medicine diseases. It explains the diagnostic and treatment principles of acupressure and herbal prescriptions, particularly those used for respiratory, digestive, metabolic, cardiovascular, neurological, and urogenital disorders. The Traditional Chinese Medicine etiology and pathology are compared to the Western Clinical Medicine. The course provides a selection of treatment modalities.
