Art History via distance learning
Art history studies the origin of art from the earliest cave paintings to the experimental art of today. It covers the Western tradition and the cultures of the Middle East, South Asia, East Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands, and the Americas. The program combines both knowledge and wisdom to bring intelligible order into the wealth of names, periods, and styles that surrounds us. Looking at the visual arts from a psychological perspective, it makes us see the history of art as a continuous weaving and changing of cultures in which each work refers to the past and points to the future; a living chain that links our present with the Pyramid age.
