This course deals with the natural, moral, and ethical ideas expressed in art. It provides an understanding of the ideological contexts within which modern and historical artists work, and the means by which art is interpreted. The course focuses in the ideas expressed through the visual, musical, and performing arts.

This course investigates the religious meaning, development, and historical significance of art. It covers the interplay of major religious movements while focusing on the Western medieval period, the Islam, India, China, Japan, and South East Asia. It provides an analysis of religion as a universal aspect of human culture expressed through art, mostly painting, sculpture, and architecture.

This course explores designing hypothetical museums considering elements such as architectural plan, staffing plan, budgets, security system, records system, conservation, educational plan, visitor-based design factors, policy making, and community relations. Archaeological Research
This course deals with the techniques, methods, and goals of archaeological research: Excavation and dating of archaeological materials, problems encountered in explaining archaeological phenomena, analysis of archaeological data by measuring and describing such artifacts as stone tools and ceramics, and the analysis of such environmental data as bones, plant remains, and sediments.

Comparative Historical Analysis
This courses presents a global review of the four Old World civilizations of the Middle East, India, China, and Europe, with special emphasis on their mutual influences and interaction across time. METHOD OF INSTRUCTION: Distance Learning Higher Education
This distance learning education program is completed by a traditional correspondence instruction method. Once you sign up for the course, Bircham International University will send you (to your mailing address) the suggested textbooks. After reading the book, you will be asked to write a 20 to 35 pages report that reflect your understanding of the book. This report is equivalent to the exam and can be submitted by email or mail. Bircham International University will evaluate your written work. If passed, BIU will issue the corresponding diploma. For a program of 21 credits, the estimated time for completion is 21 weeks. For 45 credits, the estimated time for completion will be 45 weeks, and so on. Calculations are approximate.
